Service Manager Bear Road, Feltham, Hounslow
We’re Consensus, an award winning independent provider of support services for people with learning disabilities, autism, prader willi syndrome and additional health and social care needs. We believe everybody can achieve their aspirations and do amazing things. Our role is to provide people centred support – support that starts each person we support on the road to greater independence, empowering them to reach their full potential.
We’ll take equally good care of you and your career. Thanks to our ILM accreditation, we can offer you a structured management development programme, whilst our impressive benefits package will see you getting the rewards you deserve.
Bear Road is a newly refurbished scheme which can support up to 4 people in two large bedrooms with en-suites and two flats with separate lounge areas, bedroom and bathroom. The service also has a number of spacious communal areas including a separate dining room, two separate large lounge areas and a large garden with a dedicated workshop for creative/occupational activity. The service will provide person centred, outcome based support for adults with the rare genetic condition prader willi syndrome.
The Service Manager role
We’ll look to you, as the Registered Manager, to recruit and lead the team at Bear Road providing operational and strategic direction, and making sure everything runs smoothly and cost-effectively. You will work with our referrals team to identify and assess suitable people to move into the scheme. Together with your team, you’ll ensure the individuals you support have the opportunity to develop a varied and fulfilling lifestyle in their local community – and the chance to define their own goals and decide their own future. As this will be a prader willi syndrome specialist service, you and your team will support individuals to gain a sense of choice and control over what they are eating while also empowering them to make positive decisions and take accountability for managing their own diets.
From ensuring the highest standards of support, to managing budgets, and developing your team, it’s a varied role in an organisation that’s leading the way in supporting those with learning disabilities.
The skills you’ll need
A strong, supportive leader and effective manager, you’ve successfully managed a team in a Learning Disability Service. You’ve also had professional senior level contact with CQC and have developed positive relationships with commissioning teams.
You should have achieved, or be working towards a QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care or hold equivalent qualification, such as NVQ Level 4 in both Health and Social Care and Leadership and Management in Care Services. Above all, you’re committed to the same high quality, person centred support that we are – support that helps people to a better quality of life.
Everyone who joins Consensus to work for us shares our values –
Choice & Respect; Ambition & Imagination; Reliability & Professionalism; Honesty & Integrity; Responsibility & Accountability; Inclusive & Supportive
That way we can be sure that every member of every team and service in our organisation is focused on supporting opportunity, choice and success for the individuals we support. We also follow this ethos for the people who work for us. We value your talents and we’ll give you every opportunity and support you need in your rewarding career with us.
Consensus supporting opportunity, choice and success.
